2021.04.26 The Giff Shop

We arrive in RealmSpace. AmonTor says we are about 30 days out from the TearsOfSelune. AmonTor notices robed men marching along the inside surface of the Crystal Sphere. He examines them with a spyglass. They appear to be walking the lines of a glyph this side of the RockOfBral if not larger! He and TobiasSongleaf examine it more closely.

TobiasSongleaf says they are known as TheWanderers. Legends say they are the souls of evil beings that died committing the most horrific acts. They allow ships to pass through the crystal sphere. If they cease to exist, there will be no way to open a portal between RealmSpace and ThePhlogiston. He thinks the glyph might be part of an enormous spell. The stars in RealmSpace are doorways to the quasi-elemental plane of Radiance.

We proceed into the sphere. We are getting low on air. TobiasSongleaf and AmonTor find a HCathaPlanetoid, a small planetoid that has air about 2 weeks away. TobiasSongleaf points out that it is run by Beholders. We could also go to GardenPlanetoid.

We are scared of the beholders, so we go the GardenPlanetoid. But CaptainCarrigan is confident he can sneak air at HCathaPlanetoid, so we man up. It will take 16 days to get there (just before fouled atmosphere). Nevermind, we decide to go to GardenPlanetoid. Really, we mean it.

About 8 days in, we drop out of spelljamming speed. We are in a large, uncharted asteroid field. We pick our way through for a couple of hours. We run across giant spherical mushrooms. ShadowSponge swarm (Air Stealers)!

   1. CaptainCarrigan tries to fly us out
   2. TobiasSongleaf and I get on his flying horse
   3. AmonTor casts Bless on the front half of the ship
   4. ShadowSponge swarm closes
   5. I shoot at them, but miss

   1. TobiasSongleaf lances one in the face (?) as we fly by
   2. CaptainCarrigan sails us away from the ShadowSponge swarm (opening a 1 hex gap)
   3. AmonTor casts Bless on the back half of the ship
   4. Catapult crew hits one to little damage
   5. ShadowSponge swarm persues.
   6. I shoot one and it starts to leak foul green air.

   1. CaptainCarrigan tries to bring the forward ballistas to bear. The crew manages to pull it off (even though his command was a little vague).
   2. TobiasSongleaf flies over and throws a lance at one, wounding it.
   3. AmonTor goes to the forecastle and is Charismatic at the men (not really).
   4. ShadowSponge swarm tries to ram us (TobiasSongleaf and myself on his steed), but we dodge. Another one also misses.

   1. TobiasSongleaf throws a spear and hits.
   2. AmonTor inspires the crew
   3. Ballista crews: one hits, one misses
   4. ShadowSponge swarm catches up
   5. I shoot and miss

   1. TobiasSongleaf casts darkness on one of the ShadowSponge.
   2. CaptainCarrigan flies us further away
   3. AmonTor continues to “inspire the crew”
   4. ShadowSponge swarm begins to break off
   5. I load.

   2. Catapult crew hits and kills one of them.

We make our way out of the asteroid field and back to spelljamming speed.

Day 16 we arrive at GardenPlanetoid.

There are 12 different moons.

1. One of the moons is a large plant.
2. Another is a perfect sphere.
3. We see at least one with an atmosphere.
4. There is a planar shaped moon.
5. One looks like a giant eye (big crater).
6. Crescent shaped moon.
7. Perfect rectangle moon.
8. Another looks like a rough carved white dragon.
9. Liquid marble
10. Spherical Fire body
11. Temperate moon with atmosphere
12. Another temperate moon with atmosphere

TobiasSongleaf thinks 12 is a trading post, and 11 seems to be occupied. We head to #12. We are guided to a landing spot. Its about 11 miles across. The docks are just a busy as the RockOfBral! Costs 40 gp for the week, and 40 sp for the air. They offer drydock and repairs. We need to wait a few days for the repairs to start (already busy). DockmasterDrax is trying to shake us down.

We give the crew liberty with half pay.

AmonTor goes and talks to a Gomman (giant ape) at the repair docks named ErukTheShipbuilder. He will send an apprentice to appraise the damage (TheWayfinder over on dock 4). Later at the ship, the apprentice arrives. ApprenticeOoman. Will take a day and cost 8000 gp. AmonTor talks him down to 6000 gp, but we decide that's still too high.

AmonTor goes to the local temple of HolyPTah looking for a ship's carpenter among the faithful. He joins the local priest (TyOfPTah) to conduct services. He tithes. Asks about a ship's carpenter. She will try to find someone.

I go to find some smoke powder from the Giff. We get in a arm wresting (I lose, but barely). They knock a couple of gold off the price. TobiasSongleaf goes along and we pick up some spears for him too.

We find Rats in a Blanket!

TyOfPTah comes over and “looks at AmonTor's etchings”. Apparently she has some good incense and it arouses TobiasSongleaf (so much so that WhisperTheCat is affected). TobiasSongleaf and I go to the brothels. I have a 5 gp night (). TobiasSongleaf has a 15 gp night (). Exotic. Very exotic.

The next day we go looking for the best fried rat. We find Ogden's Stall. Sweet and Sour Cranium Rat! I buy half a gallon of sauce.
