++++ Road Trip |
We are going overland through Slovenia.  We left the Venice area in late  April, 1516.

There seems to be a bunch of bad luck (broken wheels, etc.)  I look for little people. AmbrosioTornelli checks if we have been cursed by someone (the Doge?).  I notice a hazy magical miasma.

We discuss if we should dispel the curse.  We decide to do it.  We also notice we seem to have a small group of people following (at least 3.)

++++ Counter Ambush |
VincenteTornelli, FilippoTarantino and GiucamoTarantino stay in ambush as we move on.

They see one hiding behind a tree. FilippoTarantino throws the spear at them, and runs forward.

    - FilippoTarantino levels the spear at him and orders him to surrender
    - Spy pulls is sword and slashes at FilippoTarantino, but he parries.
    - GiucamoTarantino tries to disarm him.
    - VincenteTornelli keeps a look out.
  - Round
    - ...

They capture them (3 prisoners).  They are speaking German or Swiss.

They rejoin the rest of us.

++++ The Prince's Men |
We interrogate them. Who do you work for? ProsperoTepes.

They were sent to protect us!

We heal them.  They are extraordinarily understanding.

++++ The Black Mass |
AmbrosioTornelli attempts to dispel the curse.  We hear chanting in the night.  I listen.  It is the Black Mass!  I say we should leave.  I disrupt AmbrosioTornelli's ritual.

We think they are over the next ridge.

I say prayers until dawn.

++++ Broken Carriage |
We leave.  We see workmen going to the top of the ridge for a major construction project (maybe a castle or fortification).

After a short time the carriage breaks an axle!

We decide to go get a cartwright from the nearest town.  We find one and bring him back to the carriage.

On the way back, we are passed by a well dressed, armored man.  When we arrive at the carriage, he is there talking with the CompanyOfCrowes.

++++ Baron Pergstal |
Greetings, I am BaronPergstal.  His family is rebuilding the castle on the hill.  He offers to help us.  VincenteTornelli politely declines.

We fix the carriage.

We make camp.  As we go to sleep, we hear wolves howling in the distance.

++++ The Wolves |
FilippoTarantino shoots lighting, and lots of wolves start howling.  Some our horses break free.  We hear one get taken by the wolves.

++++ Dispel |
AmbrosioTornelli dispels the curse using VincenteTornelli's gun.

++++ Hostage |
BaronPergstal and his knights come down and ask if we are having any issues.  We tell him about the wolves and our lost horse.

I suspect that BaronPergstal has the mystic vision!

He says he wants to take us hostage.
FilippoTarantino blasts him with a lightning bolt.

  - Round
    - GiucamoTarantino stabs BaronPergstal, and the baron has his horse step on him.
    - AmbrosioTornelli casts armor on himself
    - VincenteTornelli runs up the stairs, away from the knights and pulls out a pistol
    - ...
    - FilippoTarantino hits one.
    - I cast armor on myself
  - Round
    - GiucamoTarantino cuts BaronPergstal's throat (he falls from his horse), and the horse tries to trample him
    - AmbrosioTornelli casts a spell on one of the horses, and it starts to run away (rider does get it back under control)
    - BaronPergstal starts to get back up.
    - FilippoTarantino stabs BaronPergstal with the spear.
    - I try to hit the baron with magic, but fail to activate
    - Horse tries to trample FilippoTarantino.  Rider slashes him (misses).
  - Round
    - GiucamoTarantino attacks the knight engaged with him, but is parried
    - ...
    - AmbrosioTornelli gets cut down with a sword, but VincenteTornelli blows off the head of the rider and the horse spooks before it can trample him.
    - FilippoTarantino pulls his spear free
    - Knight attacks FilippoTarantino, and horse misses
  - Round
    - GiucamoTarantino stabs the knight, and the warhorse kicks him in the head, dropping him.
    - AmbrosioTornelli ...
    - VincenteTornelli shoots his guns at a knight and his horse (hits horse twice, killing it)
    - FilippoTarantino kills one and heads over to protect GiucamoTarantino
  - Round
    - AmbrosioTornelli retreats and casts heal
    - VincenteTornelli shoots at a couple of the horses.
    - The knights are retreating
